betting comes from three meetings today, Lingfield, Haydock and Taunton.
Three horses to look at today:
3.50 pm Lingfield, Esclarmonde - Luca Cumani’s only mount of the day and ridden by Nicky McKay. Had a recent pipe opener and expect as the Italian master picks his races carefully that this maiden will bolt-up. Current best price around 5/1
2.55pm Taunton Kickhead, trained by Williams and ridden by AP McCoy, the horse has a great record at this track.
3.30pm Taunton Wotashambles, trained by Tizzard this horse was lucky last time out and should go well.
Recommended bets, £5 eway patent
Semi - Final day with no Taylor or Van Barneveld .The bookmakers dream as it all looks very open.Maybe to them it does ,to me, it does not, and, a few facts and figures i feel justify that John Part should be favourite to win his third championship.A quick look at the 4 contenders:
Wayne Mardle :Came back from 3-0 down to beat Taylor. The crowd love Mardle and he will have massive support.
Taylor was lucky to even be in the quater finals and should have been beaten in every round so far.He has not performed to anything like his best in any match this year.Saturdays victory over Taylor may have been his final.
Kirk Shepherd :Little known qualifier who stumbled into this via the Wolverhampton qualifiers.Has ridden his luck and should have been beaten by three of his opponents en route. His averages have never went over 90 in any match, though they have improved as the tournament has progressed. His first 2 games he produced sub 80 averages.
Kevin Painter :I have been very much supportive of Painter in his matches to date after seeing him play in The Grand Slam of Darts. He has not dissappointed, but though he won comfortably last night, his average was well down and though he remains a threat i just have suspicions he may have peaked to early.
John Part:Twice a World Champion.Has the best average of the tournament for an individual game.Has the best average for the overall tournament (never been under 91+ for any of his matches .Mentally stronger than Mardle or Painter and will have more tactical awareness than Shepherd.
Todays bet: Part to beat Painter@evens William Hill 6pt win.
To Date +10pts

TOTTENHAM have been living up to their name as Hotspurs recently with some
stunning displays.
They were praised by Arsene Wenger after an unlucky defeat at Arsenal then
tore apart Fulham on Boxing Day.
Jaunde Ramos has transformed the team and the return of centre-half Ledly
King should help shore up things at the back.
Spurs look certs to beat Reading at White Hart Lane on Saturday and are a
biggest 4-7 with Ladbrokes and Coral.
Ramos has been sticking to the pairing of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov
up front and it’s the Irishman who could bag the first strike.
Chelsea are also pretty short at a best 4-9 with Paddy Power and despite
the absence of stars such as John Terry, Florent Malouda, Didier Drogba,
Frank Lampard, Ricardo Carvalho and Ashley Cole they should be too strong
for a Newcastle outfit who have been woeful over the festive period.
Andriy Shevchenko scored twice against Aston Villa on Boxing Day and looked
sharp so take him to break the deadlock.
Newcastle will be without midfielder Joey Barton who will spend the weekend
in jail after being charged with assault.
Chelsea have gone 72 games unbeaten in the league at home and surely they
won’t fall to Sam Allardyce’s men.
Carlos Tevez should make a triumphant return to West Ham with Manchester
United who are looking like champs at the moment.
Closest title rivals Arsenal face a tough test at Everton against Davie
Moyes’ men who have lost just one game in 14.
The Gunners haven’t looked their free-flowing selves recently and I quite
fancy the Mersey men at 5-2 with totesport.
And finally in the top flight look at Aston Villa at Wigan. Villa have
netted 19 goals awy from hoem – more than any of their rivals – and are 7-5
with totesport.
In Scotland, Falkirk are the team of the moment after only losing recently
to the Old Firm. Hearts aren’t after four successive defeats.
So William Hill’s 6-4 on the Bairns looks pretty attractive although I
wonder how long it will last?
Lump on Falkirk against a side in total disarray and now tenth in the
table.
Inverness, 21-20 with Hill, should beat Kilmarnock at home while Celtic are
certs to take care of Gretna at Parkhead.
Odds are short as 1-10 but Coral offer 1-6 on the champs while Gretna are
20-1 with Blue Square.
It looks tougher for Rangers at Hibs but the managerless capital side
performed poorly in losing to Killie on Boxing Day and a repeat will make
it easy for Walter Smith’s men who are 3-4 at VCbet.
My Record tips are:
HOMES
Spurs, Hull, West Brom
Hartlepool, Falkirk, Inverness
Perm any 5 and all 6 (7 bets)
AWAYS
Aston Villa, Cardiff
Carlisle, Aberdeen
Perm any 3 and all 4 (5 bets)
SUPER SINGLE
Everton (12-5, sportingbet)
TOP TREBLE
Spurs, Falkirk, Inverness
Quarter - Finals day at the World Darts with two afternoon and two evening games .
No outstanding bet today ,but a win treble at 5/1(slightly bigger in places) on Peter Manley to beat Kirk Shepherd,John Part to beat James Wade and Kevin Painter to beat Adrian Lewis is what i am looking at.
Manley should deal with Shepherd fairly comfortably,i cannot see Manley messing around on doubles the way Shepherds opponents have been in the first three rounds. The other two are trickier ,but both Lewis and Wade have been playing very much in fits and starts, where as Part and Painter have both been highly impressive in all there matches so far.
5/1 the treble looks decent enough for three players who are doing it day in ,day out.
Todays Bet:Manley,Part and Painter all to win treble@5/1 general 4 pts
To Date :+14 points
